Suzuki FZ50 1978—1983 Suzuki FS50 1980—1981

I have put some FZ50 Youdy/Rascal/Suzy and FS50 info on this page. The page is still under construction. I don't know very much more of this model. What I do know that the FZ50 is a scooter with an air-cooled 49cc two-stroke engine and an automatic, 2-speed transmission. The model has several nicknames, Youdy in Japan, Suzy and Rascal in some countries. The model was introduced in Japan as 1978 year's model. Another Suzuki scooter, FS50, introduced in 1980, used the same mechanics as the FZ50 but had different wheels and its own style. According to Roy Bacon's book of Suzuki the FZ50 was not introduced in the United Kingdom until 1980, simultaneously with the new FS50 scooter.

The FZ50 was introduced in Denmark in 1981 as FZ50 Suzi. Apparently the Danish mopeds/scooterettes were restricted to maximum speed of 30 km/h, the power restriction was made by narrowing the inlet to 13 mm. Even the Danish model featured 12-inch wheels, baggage holder at front and rear, turning signals, stop rear light, low/high beam, mirror, low oil pressure indicator, fuel gauge etc.
